LaBar, Larry J., 73, of Daisytown, went to be with the Lord January 27, 2014 at Good Sam Palliative Care Center surrounded by his family. Born August 10, 1940 in Jackson, Alabama, son of the late Valura Jean and Mike LaBar. Survived by wife of 53 years, Linda (Sedlmeyer) LaBar, Daisytown; sons, Lee married to Janette (Grasso) and Lance married to Cindy (Freidhoff) both of Johnstown; grandchildren, Becca, Hannah, Brandon, Dylan, Carson, and Allison all of Johnstown; brother, Jerry (Sybil) LaBar, Kentuky; sisters, Lureen, wife of Donald Scanlan, of Lilly, Debbie married to James Kris, of Johnstown and Cindy married to Robert Kris of Johnstown; sister-in-law, Nancy married to Donald Hoffman of O’Fallon, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Larry retired from Ward Trucking after 35 years of service as an over the road driver. He was awarded PA Driver of the Month in February 1993 from the American Trucking Association. Larry also was awarded plaques for 20 and 30 years of accident free driving from Ward Trucking. Larry was a member of SS. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Daisytown ; lifetime member of Daisytown and Cover Hill Firemen’s Clubs and the Volunteers Firemen’s Association of Cambria County. He was past President of Daisytown Borough Council. Larry was an avid Steeler fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at PA Grand Canyon. He loved his entire family, especially his grandchildren. At Larry’s request there will be no visitation, however, family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 10 AM on Friday at SS. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Daisytown, Father Robert Ruston. Committal will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
