Bear, Larry R., 85, Johnstown. Died June 2, 2021, at home. Born May 9, 1936, in Lancaster, PA. Son of the late Charles and Hazel (Price) Bear. Also preceded in death by sister, Gail Mills. Survived by wife of 59 ½ years, Gerry A. (Welsh); children, Daphne (Ronald) Moot, Larry R. II (Christal) Bear and Pamela Bear; grandchildren, Brittany Nutkins, Matthew Moot, Jessica (Cody) Knarr, Nathan (Kristen) Moot, Samantha Bear and Michaela Teeter; great grandchildren, Luke, Noah and Lydia Moot. Graduate of Everett High School and Catherman’s Business School. Larry served proudly as an Army Veteran of Korea and was an advisor to the ROK Corps. He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania after 37 years of service. Larry was a past Trustee at Bethel United Methodist Church in Salix. Fishing was a passion of Larry that took him to various parts of the U.S. and Canada. Also enjoyed fishing with family members. He also enjoyed hunting and taught many youths the joy of hunting. Larry spent many hours in front of the TV watching anything that had a ball connected to it. Friends received from 1 pm to 2 pm time of service Friday June 4, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Rev. Jim Gay, officiating. Entombment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
