Gore, Lacy, “Rebel”, 93, of Windber, died July 27, 2016. Born December 18, 1922, in Horry County, South Carolina. Son of Dexter and Lily (Calder) Gore. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred L. (Rosenbaum) Gore; grandson, Samuel Stiles; great granddaughter, Aubrey Roberts, and brothers, Gordon and Robert Gore; and daughter in law, Cheri Gore. He is survived by his children, Deborah, wife of Joseph Macy, Salix; Michael, Portage; Cheryl, wife of James Macy, Salix; and Rebecca Stiles, Johnstown; grandchildren, Joe, Shawn, Sunshine, Susan, Jim, Jolene, and Walter; 17 great-grandchildren;brothers, R.V. Gore, Lexington, SC; and Ellie and his wife, Helen, Rimrock, SC. Lacy was a Marine Corp veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He retired after 35 years from Bethlehem Steel. Lacy and Mildred were former owner and operators of the West-Vu Motel in Pleasantville. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting until the age of 83. Private family viewing will be held at the convenience of the family at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Committal will be held at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
