Joyce L. Barabus

Barbus, Joyce L., 49, of East Conemaugh, passed away on August 4, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with kidney disease. She was born January 13, 1965 in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Joseph S. Barbus and Dorothy M. (Lebosky) Barbus, East Conemaugh. Preceeded in death by father; sisters, Melanie Barbus, Elayne M. Barbus-McMinn and Barbara J. Barbus; brother-in-law, Thomas “Teke” Szwast. In addition to her mother she is survived by her loving fiancé, Fred Farabaugh, East Conemaugh; children, Ryan S., married to the former Brianne M. Buchan, and Ashley L., wife of Alan J. Buchan, all of East Taylor Township; grandchildren, Gavin A. and Garrett S. Buchan, Easton T. Reynolds; sisters, Paulette B, East Taylor Township and Susan wife of Robin Dietz; numerous nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Joyce was a 1981graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. Joyce was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Johnstown. She enjoyed camping, cross country traveling, listening to a variety of music, and will be remembered as a person who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. Joyce lived life to the fullest and loved her entire family, especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. At Joyce’s request there will be no public viewing. A private service will be held at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh with Pastor Scott Custead officiating. The family suggests contributions be directed to National Kidney Foundation, 3109 Forbes Avenue, Suite 101, Pittsburgh PA 15213 in memory of Joyce.
