Dolence – Josephine L., “Peppy”, 97, of Allentown, formerly of Bon Air, went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2016 at Heartland of Mentor, Mentor, OH. Born on October 21, 1918 in Johnstown, daughter of John and Josephine (Prhne) Jacoby. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Anthony Dolence; grandson, William Von Alt; 5 brothers and a sister. She is survived by her loving children, Josephine A. Von Alt, Allentown, PA, Joseph J., married to the former Virginia R. DiFranco, Willoughby, OH, and Frank J., Mechanicsburg, PA; grandchildren, Vanessa (Peter) Candreva, Pittsburgh, PA, Joseph J. Dolence Jr., Willoughby, OH, and Andrew D. (Valerie) Dolence, Columbus, OH; great grandsons, William J. Von Alt II married to Thelma, Jesse and Connor Dolence, and Brady Dolence; great-great grandchildren, Liam, Drew, Tev, and DJ, and numerous nieces and nephews. Peppy was a former member of Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, where she volunteered many hours making potica and perioges. She was also a former member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Emmaus, PA. Peppy was an 80 year member of SNPJ Lodge #254, Bon Air. She enjoyed Slovenian polka dancing, but especially loved spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Fr. Robert Ruston, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Josephine Dolence.
