SEPETY---Joseph Nicholas, 84, Windber, died November 22, 2022. Born March 29, 1938, in Johnstown, son of Nicholas and Mary (Vargo) Sepety. Preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, Paul Geiser and wife, Daunice, and sister-in-law, Kathleen Geiser. Survived by wife and companion of 61 years, Jean (Geiser) Sepety, Windber; sister, Marie Schellenberg, husband Fred, Windber; sister, Ann Swincinski, husband, Daniel, Central City; nephew, Jordan Lease, wife Shannon, and their children, Hudson and Willow, Hollsopple; nephew, John Swincinski, wife Karla Baker, Metairie, LA; niece, Annie Swincinski and partner, Branden Ronald, State College; brother-in-law, Ron Geiser; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was employed at W.C. McQuaide for 50 years. Member of the United States Naval Reserves. Joe held membership and offices in numerous transportation organizations in Pennsylvania. He had a passion for Civil War history and collectibles. Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, with Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal, St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery, Windber. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the church of your choice or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org in memory of Joseph N. Sepety.
