RISHELL -- Joseph, "Bud", 76, Eighth Ward, formerly of East Conemaugh Borough, passed away on April 20, 2014, at Laurelwood Care Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 29, 1937, in East Conemaugh Borough. Preceded in death on May 24, 2012, by wife of 52 years, Margaret L. (Bosser) Rishell. They were married on May 7, 1960 at Assumption of BVM Church, Conemaugh; also preceded in death by mother, Anna P. (Reynolds) Rishell-Finnegan, and step father Eugene M. Finnegan; sisters, Dorothy Shirey and Gertrude Dadura. Survived by loving children, Dr. Tamara M. Rishell, wife of Dr. Thomas A. Basile, Westmont, Dr. Joseph K. Rishell, Johnstown, and Mark E. âDukeâ Rishell, married to the former Janice M. Esch, Sidman, PA; granddaughters; Dr. Caitlin A. Basile, Hershey, PA, Marissa L. Basile, Culpeper, VA, and Emily R. Basile, Loretto, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe was a 1956 graduate of East Conemaugh High School, and attended Potomac State College, and the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army National Guard. Joe served as a Councilman for East Conemaugh Borough for several years. He was also a former Mason. Joe was a retired supervisor for Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Production and Scheduling with 30 years employment. He was a coach for various youth sports in East Conemaugh Borough. Joe spent his retirement aiding his children and grandchildren in their pursuits and was a wonderful spouse, father and grandfather. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to a charity of oneâs choice in memory of Joe.
