Kist, Joseph John,100, of Philadelphia, formerly of East Conemaugh Borough, died peacefully on March 20, 2012 at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park, PA. He was born on October 10, 1911 in Franklin Borough. Son of George Michael and Susan (Hirscherberger) Kist. Preceded in death by parents; wife Delores C. âDeeâ (Moffitt) Kist; daughter, Mary LaJudice; son-in-law, Anthony LaJudice and 9 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving grandchildren, Michael LaJudice, Glenolden, PA, Kevin LaJudice married to the former Donna Giuliano, Woodlyn, PA, Tammy wife of Lawrence Ferriola, Norwood, PA and Daniel LaJudice, married to the former Tina Wisley, Norwood, PA; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joseph finished school in the eighth grade and worked as a foreman in the Wheel Plant at Bethlehem Steel until he retired in 1976. He was a devout Catholic. Joseph was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1811. He loved spending time with his family, doing crossword puzzles, and taking his chance on the PA Lottery. Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. on Sunday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass with be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Father Robert C. Hall. Committal will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Church of the Transfiguration, 340 Second Street, Conemaugh, PA15909 in memory of Joseph.
