John S. Zalubski Jr.

Zalubski Jr. - John S., 84, of East Conemaugh, went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2020. He was born on April 28, 1935 in Johnstown. Son of John and Julia (Urbanski) Zalubski. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by wife Irene, brother, Bill; brother-in-law Charles Cvijanovich; and son-in-law, Dennis W. Eppley. He is survived by children, Carolyn L. Eppley and fiancé Dan Mills, Geistown Borough, John B., married to the former Pat L. Churilla, Oak Hill, VA and Lori A., wife of Albert J. Kiepert Jr., Ebensburg; grandchildren, John P. “J.P.” Zalubski, Alexander N. and Lauren E. Kiepert; and sisters Sonia Cvijanovich and Mary C. Zalubski. John was a 1953 graduate of Conemaugh High School, where he was a multisport athlete. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation. John was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration. He served with the US Army National Guard. John was a very good baseball player and played in a Johnstown AAABA Tournament. He was a former coach for both Conemaugh Catholic and East Conemaugh Little League. John enjoyed gardening, watching sports, and sitting on his front porch on the swing. His greatest enjoyment were his three grandchildren. At John’s request there will be no public viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Father Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
