Stanislawczyk, John M., 79, of Upper Newtown, passed away on April 12, 2011 at Pennknoll Village, Everett, PA. He was born on April 18, 1931 in South Fork. Son of Michael and Mary (Poborsky) Stanislawczyk. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Margaret Stanislawczyk and brothers-in-law, Stanley “Stush” Wyrwas and Albert Gabrysh. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Josephine S. (Gabrysh) Stanislawczyk; children, Steven J. Stanislawczyk, Lower Newtown, Mary P. (Paul) Woznak, East Taylor Township and Ann M. Stanislawczyk, Reston, VA; grandchildren, Heather (Christopher) Scott, Mustang, OK, SPC. Paul Woznak Jr., Fort Riley, KS, Shelby N. Woznak, East Taylor Township and Kelli R. Stanislawczyk, Lower Newtown; great grandson, Karsten P. Scott, Mustang, OK; siblings, Catherine Wyrwas, Vinco, Clara (Ray) Garcia, Mesa, AZ, Michael (Janelle) Stanislawczyk, Abilene, TX, Joseph (Sandra) Stanislawczyk, Mesa, AZ, Bernice Popp, Iron Mt., MI, Stephen Stanislawczyk, East Conemaugh, and Irene (Thomas) Piker, Mesa, AZ, sisters-in-law, Marie (Edward) Piurkowsky, New Florence and Esther Lee Gabrysh, San Antonio, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. John was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired after 42 years of service as a crane operator at Bethlehem Steel Corp. John was a former member of Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church and a current member of Holy Cross National Catholic Church; Parkhill American Legion Post # 970 and the Conemaugh Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed working for his churches, gardening and socializing. John was very proud of his Polish Heritage and of his grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 3-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday at Holy Cross National Catholic Church, Woodland Ave., Moxham, Fr. Paul Zomerfeld. Committal will be at Assumption Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. On line condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
