Orris - John L., 77, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2020 at Conemaugh Medical Center.  Born on April 19, 1943 in Johnstown.  Son of the late George and Mary (Hamryszak) Orris.  He is survived by loving wife Valerie with whom he recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.  Also survived by his loving son Greg, sister Cynthia, sisters and brother’s in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was employed as Master Sergeant, HHC 1stBN 103d Armor, 28th Inf Div., PA National Guard.   Later, he was a member of the Richland Police Department as well as a US Marshal for the US Department of Justice. John enjoyed being outdoors riding his motorcycle or in his garage working on cars or home projects.  He also loved spending time with his four furry buddies.  His friends remember him for his great sense of humor, always joking or ready with a funny story.  There is an empty seat at the Valley Dairy where many of his amusing tales were shared. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and his critter companions. Family will receive friends from 2-5 pm Sunday, October 11 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Johnstown.  Masks and social distancing are requested at this time. John was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, where Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 13, at 10:30 am.  Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Military Rites following Mass at the church by Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287, Marine Corps League. Private inurnment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
