Mikolich â John, 89, Cover Hill, went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2014 at Windber Hospice. Born on December 5, 1924 in Acosta, PA, son of Charles and Mary (Miklowcic) Mikolich. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Kathleen (Gurich) Mikolich; siblings, Mary Mikolich, Frank, Agnes Wolpart, Charles J., Frances Huggins, Joseph, Anna Urbas, Josephine Bivona, Tony, Alice Zilch, and Julia Sapinenza; daughters-in-law, Mary Anne (Hogue) Mikolich, Victoria (Waksmunski) Mikolich. He is survived by his loving children, John C., Johnstown, Brian J., Cover Hill, Rade, East Taylor Township; former daughter-in-law, Carla Simanski, VA, grandchildren, John D., married to the former Donna Zutch, Westmont, Kevin C, Johnstown, Jennifer, wife of Thomas Anderson, Brian J. Jr., Steven, and Katie all of Cover Hill, Joshua and Terista, both of VA; great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Brady âLittle Manâ, and Vickie; brother, Martin, Corning, CA; very special and close niece, Mary Jane and great nieces, Joyce and âDebbie Debbie Doâ and numerous other nieces and nephews. John was a US Navy Seaman II, Veteran serving during WWII serving on the USS Black. He received the Point System Victory Medal; American Campaign Asiatic Pacific 8 Stars; Philippine Liberation Medal; Asiatic Pacific 1 Star; American Theatre Officer in Charge WWII Medal. John retired from Sani Dairy after 41 years of service as a Machine Operator. He was a life time member of Somerset V.F.W. Post #554; Conemaugh-Franklin American Legion Post #633 and Conemaugh Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a Fire Policemen. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and scratch off tickets. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. until time of Prayer Service at 11:30 a.m. at Wednesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, Fr. Robert C. Hall. Committal will be at St. Petka Cemetery with military rites conducted by St. Michaels American Legion Post #551 Ritual Team.
