Lumley, John E., 84, Johnstown. Passed away peacefully on July 16, 2012, in his home surrounded by loving family members. Born July 4, 1928, in Spangler, Pa. Son of the late John and Laura (Hutchison) Lumley. Also preceded in death by brother Ron and wife, Theresa (McDermott) Lumley. Survived by wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (Fisseler); daughter, Reney, wife of Ronald Partsch, Salix; son John, married to the former Teresa (Ludrosky), Richland; granddaughters, Ashley Partsch, Paige Lumley and grandsons; Jack and Grant Lumley. John served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Upon returning from Germany, John worked in the Gautier Roll Shop at Bethlehem for 40 years before retiring in 1986. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Greater Johnstown Lodge # 538, F&AM and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. John loved history and geography and was especially well versed on the Civil War enjoying periodic trips to Gettysburg. âPapâ, as he was called by his family, loved being around his grandchildren. He was able to see his granddaughter Ashleyâs success in nursing school and Paigeâs success on the track. As far as Jack and Grant, he loved watching them play football, wrestle, pole vault and play baseball. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm Thursday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
