Knapp, John L., 59, of Stonycreek Township, passed away peacefully with the Lord on September 3, 2013. Born January 23, 1954 in Johnstown PA. Son of the late John âJackâ W. Knapp and Barbara (Geiser) Knapp, Johnstown. Preceded in death by father, who passed away, February 3rd, 1993. In addition to his mother, he is survived by wife, Janet (Esposito) Knapp, Stonycreek Township; son Ryan Kolar and daughter in law, Melyssa (Andler) Kolar, and granddaughter Kensington Rose Kolar; siblings, Anna Marie (Dave) Howell, Ken (Kathleen) Knapp, Loretta Knapp, Barb (Ron) Flowers, Paul Knapp and his companion, Denise, Tammy (Mike) Mueller; sisters-in-law, Karen (Mike) Solomon, Deb (Tom) Kociban, Vicki Siko and her companion, Sean âPatâ Booth, Fran (Kerry) Campbell, Joni Esposito and her companion Dave Orme, Suzy (Ray) Byers, Lori (Dave) Cid; brother-in-law, Mark (Debbie) Esposito. Also survived by many loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews on both sides of family. John proudly served his country during Vietnam War in the US Army. He was a member of Johnstown Knights of Columbus Council 467, 3rd degree and past Grand Knight and Warden; All Saints Assembly #0954; All Saints Assembly Color Corp. and member of Boyd "Buzz" Wagner Chapter 221 Air Force Association. John was an avid bowler, loved the game of golf, a model train enthusiast, attending train shows and auctions with his buddies, Carl and Matt. He retired from Lee Hospital, subsequently employed by Conemaugh Hospital Pharmacy Department. John just welcomed his only grandchild, Kensington and was looking forward to her first birthday. He always made family and friends a priority. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held and All Saints Color Guard will stand guard from 6-8 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Moxham, Father Walter Moll Jr., Pastor.
