John R. Haywood

Haywood, John R., 82, of Richland Townhip, went to be with the Lord July 24, 2014, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born on March 27, 1932 in Johnstown, son of the late John R. and Sarah A. (Hugill) Haywood. He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda (Gallo) Haywood; son, John Jeffrey, married to the former Viviane Frias, CA; daughter, Renee Lynn Haywood, Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Travis Henry and Temma Therese, both of CA; sister, Martha Ann Pernau, Geistown; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a 1951 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. John was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church; American Legion Post #849, Richland, Moxham PNA and a life member of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing for trout with his friend Blacky and socializing with his many friends. John will be remembered for his sense of humor. At John’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to Mt.
