Habala, John P. 70, of Lower Yoder Township, passed away on April 12, 2018 at Laurelwood Care Center. He was born on November 22 1947 in Johnstown. Son of the late Milan and Margaret (Wright) Habala. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Yamber) Habala; his loving partner, Deborah M. Yesenosky, and step-mother Barbara Habala. He is survived by his son, Christopher, married to Kelly Walker, Pittsburgh; grandsons, Caelan, Jackson, and William Habala, and Alex Walker all of Pittsburgh; also survived by God-daughters, Lauren and Savanah Stackhouse. John was a 1965 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. John was employed as a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel, coal miner at various mines and a repair technician at Walnut Medical for 25 years. He was a hospice volunteer for both Lee and Windber Hospice for over 15 years. John was an animal lover who belonged to various animal care groups. He enjoyed model trains, music and antique cars. John will be remembered as a kind and loving friend. At the family’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh. Entombment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family at Grandview Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Drive Ext., Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of John. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
