John S. Goodwin

Goodwin, John S. Jr., 78, of Richland. Died Oct. 31, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 22, 1933, in Terra Alta, WV. Son of the late John and Margarite (Waible) Goodwin. Survived by wife of 54 years, Lucille A. (Santore) and these sons; Eric, married to Mary “Mitzi” (Buck), Columbia, MD; Bruce, married to Bernadine(Cowan), Sykesville, MD; and Craig, married to Marie(Ensor), Perry Hall, MD. Grandchildren; Elizabeth, Jonathan, Kristen, Kelsey, Lauren and Olivia. Brother of Elmer Goodwin, Jeanette, PA. Served 2 years in the U.S. Army. Retired with 38 years’ service from the former Peoples Natural Gas Co. in Johnstown. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and Choir, Geistown, and All Saints Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, also, American Legion Richland Post # 849. John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved to hunt and golf. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Thursday at St. Benedict Church.
