John S. Burley

BURLEY – John S., 60, Windber, passed away December 29, 2023.  Born October 10, 1963 in New York, son of William and Nancy Burley.  Preceded in death by parents.  Survived by his soulmate, best friend and loving wife, Veronica (Wilson); children Jonathon Burley, Victor (Flores) and fiancée Illyanna Miller, Luther (Flores), and Jasmine (Flores). Also survived by nieces, nephews, and fur baby “Willie.” John was an icon in the ice rink industry. His legacy spanned over 40 years with thousands of ice rink projects across the globe.  His father, Bill Burley was a true businessman and taught John the fundamentals of operating a business at a young age when he owned Ideal Park – a recreational park with pool and ice rink.  After Ideal Park, John and his father established Burley’s Rink Supply, a full ice rink construction company and built their own ice rink complex, Planet Ice, in Johnstown, PA.  In 2007, John established Everything Ice.  From its humble beginnings to its pinnacle of success, Everything Ice was a testament to John’s vision and perseverance. Through the years, it grew into more than just a company; it became a symbol of excellence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to everyone in the ice rink industry.  John took pride in ensuring that his customers were treated like family and made himself available to them any time, day, or night.  In March of 2020, John was able to utilize his business to provide millions of pieces of PPE to businesses, schools, nursing homes and more.  Most recently, John acquired Magic Ice USA, an ice rink rental company, further expanding his ice rink business footprint, Chicken Guy restaurant in Pittsburgh, and partnered with Punky’s Famous Flatbreads.  Outside of being a business owner, John was an avid photographer and digital creator, he enjoyed fishing, and any adventure with his beloved wife.   John will not only be remembered for his business achievements and endless knowledge, but also for his kindness and mentorship, helping anyone that needed it. Friends received Sunday Jan. 7. 2024 from 1 to 7 pm and Mon. Jan. 8 from 10 am to noon at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lanne, Richland, where Celebration of Life service will be held at Noon. John was interested in charities such as the Humane Society, youth sports sponsorships, the Symphony and anything community. Those who wish may donate to the charity of choice in memory of John S.
