Bunnell, John Frederick Sr., 87, Geistown. Died January 11, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 28, 1930 in Clarks Summit, PA. Son of the late Willard and Marjorie (Nichols) Bunnell. John is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Judson, James, Loyal Jr. and George. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan (Probst); sons Eric John (Chrissy), Johnstown; John Frederick Jr. (Andrea), New Jersey; and William Deacon (Lourdes), Virginia; 4 grandchildren; Michael, Robert, Josephine and Zachary Bunnell; 4 furry grand dogs, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. John attended Mansfield State Teachers College and Penn State University, was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War. For about 30 years John was a hardware salesman for the Geo. Worthington Co., and for 7 years with the Kruse Company servicing many hardware stores in the area. He could be seen in the summer tending his gardens and sharing his produce with many. John was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp Avenue. The Harris Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. There will be no viewing but a funeral service will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp Avenue, Richland at 10:00 a.m. Monday January 15, 2018. Rev. Scott Klimke, officiating. Military rites by Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287, Marine Corps League at conclusion of church service. Private inurnment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank Dr. Rashid Awan and the oncology department at UPMC, Dr. David Johns, and the Windber Hospice for their compassion and comfort. Family suggests donations to Mt.
