Jennie Yewcic

Yewcic, Jennie, 89, of Bon Air, formerly of East Conemaugh, passed away on June 24, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on May 14, 1924 in Johnstown. Daughter of Valentine and Eva (Kopec) Rozum. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George “Judy”; great grandsons, Luke and Nathan; brothers, Stanley, Frank, Joseph, and John; infant sister, Blanche and sisters, Josephine Koterba and Mary Matala; brothers in law, Nick Matala and Stanley Marhefka; sister in law, Delores Rozum and nephew, John Koterba. She is survived by her loving children, Donna wife of Robert Wisz, Richard Yewcic, Judy wife of Stanley Rokosz and Denny “Bear” Yewcic all of Johnstown; grandchildren, Chrissy Wisz-Clark, Johnstown, Robert Wisz, Germany, Jennie Rokosz, wife of Mike Miller, Johnstown, Christopher Yewcic, married to the former Amanda Litzinger and Jeffrey Yewcic all of Clover, SC, Alyssa and Alexander Yewcic both of Johnstown; sister, Dorothy Marhefka, Bon Air; brother, Walter, Johnstown; special sister-in-law, Mary Yewcic, East Conemaugh; numerous nephews and nieces, including special nieces, Georgia McCall, Johnstown and Shirley Wuicik, OH and her faithful companion, Bear. Jennie was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church and the St. Anne’s Guild. She enjoyed playing BINGO and always had her door opened for everyone. Friends will be received from 1-7 P.M. Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh where Parastas will be sung at 1 P.M. and Rosary will be recited by parishioners at 6 P.M. A brief memorial service will be held at 9 A.M. Friday at the funeral chapel followed by Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Fr. Robert Oravetz. Committal will be at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery.
