Jean A. Kestermont

Kestermont – Jean A., 72, Elton, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Center. Born on July 3, 1947 in Johnstown, daughter of Alva R. and Miriam V (Rundle) Berkey. Preceded in death by her parents, and son, Jasen. She is survived by her loving daughters, Vickie L. (Tony) Czyrnik, Johnstown, and Lisa M. (the late Mark) Skeens, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Danielle L. (Chung Yu) Li, Johnstown, Nick E. (Lindsey) Czyrnik, Blackstone, VA, Andy J. Czyrnik, Beaverdale, Marshall J. (Briana) Skeens, Kansas City, MO, and Ali M. Skeens, Columbia, MO; great grandchildren, Mason and Kingston; sister, Jane L. (the late Charles) Wolfhope, Elton; brother, Jim H. (Ya Chi) Berkey, Taipei, Taiwan, and several nieces and nephews. Jean was a graduate of Adams Summerhill High School. She was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. Jean grew up on the Berkey Sunrise Farm, where she enjoyed raising animals, gardening and was active with the local 4-H. She and her sister, Jane both sang gospel music at various events and local churches. Jean enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends and family. She loved being active in church and spending time with grand and great grandchildren. At Jean’s request, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Michael Christine officiating. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions be directed to Locust Grove Church of the Brethren Mission Commission, 1421 Clapboard Run Rd, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Jean.
