Jean L. Erb

Erb, Jean L., 93, Windber, formerly of Geistown. Died April 22, 2016, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born Mar. 11, 1923, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late James Webster  and Edith (Hammerle) Seigh. Also preceded in death by husband, J. Frank Erb; siblings, Mary Ellen Ball and James W. “Bill” Seigh. Survived by children; Joseph W. (Mary C. Strick), Susan (Kenneth) Messina, Audrey (Anthony) Sestrich and Eugene (Marylou Hebda) Erb, all of Johnstown. Also 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Sister of Charles, Nancy Pennel and Richard Seigh. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Johnstown High School and Johnstown Vocational Public School for Nursing. Formerly employed at former Mercy Hospital. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Life Member of Geistown Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Lions Club and numerous other community organizations. Jean was a caring and thoughtful lady who enjoyed life and family. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday. Rev. John Snyder, officiating.
