Janet L. Zdelar

Zdelar, Janet L., 81, of Richland. Went to be with the Lord Feb. 8, 2017, at Conemaugh Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.  Born January 9, 1936, in Johnstown.  Daughter of the late Delmas B. and Ida Mae (Harris) Faith.  Also, preceded in death by sister Dona Mae, brother Melvin and sister-in-law Nancy Faith.  Survived by husband of 61 years, Mark Zdelar; Children, Denise (Tony Aliquo), Mark (Alison Morgan) and Diane (Mike Bush); Grandchildren, Mark Alan (Lauren Voetsch), Christine, Anthony (fiancée Jess), Margaret and Miles; Great-Grandchild, Weylan.  Sister of Ron, Barry (Becky) and Susan (Russ Dunn).  Beloved sister-in-law Donna (James) Bell. Janet was a retired Teacher’s Aide with 32 years of service at Richland Elementary, Forest Hills Middle School and Westmont Middle School.  She attended Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church.  Janet was involved in planning her 1954 Richland High School class reunions. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who greatly enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and family. After retirement, Mark and Janet loved to travel – going on cruises, bus trips and visiting their children.  Since she grew up in Richland Twp., she knew of and made many friends in her community.  The family all agree that she was “a tough old broad”. Friends received 6-8 PM Friday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 12 Noon to time of service at 1 PM Saturday at Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church. Pastor James Gay, officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery. Family suggests donations to your favorite animal shelter or a children in need charity.
