Van Nest, James R., 81, Glendale Yearound, formerly of Johnstown. Went home to be with our Lord on Dec. 9, 2011, at Home. Born Aug. 2, 1930, in Loretto, Pa. Son of the late Jordan and Gladys (Kimball) Van Nest. Also preceded in death by loving wife of 57 years, Betty Jane (Wiley); brothers, Charles, Francis, Lawrence and sisters, Viola Yeckley, Camilla Seibert and Irene Smithbower. Survived by loving daughter, Joyce Dugan and granddaughter, Wendy Lewis, both of Johnstown; 7 great grandchildren. Brother of Walter, married to Jenny, VA.; Mildred Durbin, Mineral Point; Laverne Seibert, MS; and many nieces and nephews. WWII Army Veteran. Retired from Beth Energy Mines 33 with 25 yearsâ service. Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and UMWA Local 1368, District 2 for 42 years. James truly enjoyed his home and the outdoors. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. James will be remembered by his family for his love, kindness, thoughtfulness and his devotion to them and God. They thank God for blessing them with precious and fondest memories of someone so dear.
