James Utnik

Utnik, James, 58, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2013. Born on July 20, 1954 in Johnstown. Son of Edward, Johnstown and the late Sophie (Golojuch) Utnik. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, John and Katherine Golojuch and paternal grandparents, Walenty “Valetine” and Anna Utnik. He is survived by his son, Chris M. Utnik, married to the former Amy Burke, Johnstown; sister, Carol, wife of Richard Mesaros, Savannah, GA; brothers, Matthew, Anthony “Bernie”, Larry, married to the former Cindy Thomas all of Johnstown, Jeffrey, married to the former Barbara Mirable, Chesterton, IN, Tom, Johnstown, Tim, married to the former Patty Lingenfelter, Johnstown; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. James was a graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. He was a US Army Veteran. James was employed as a laborer at Derricott Construction Company. He was a member of Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all sports. He loved being in the outdoors and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, East Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday at Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, Fr. Robert Ruston. Military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team at the church. Private interment will be at Oak Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Ss. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Bon Air, 120 Boltz Street, Johnstown, PA 15902 in memory of James.
