BIVENS---James L. “Jim,” 85, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Born a son of George H. and Ann E. (Knepper) Bivens. Preceded in death by parents and brother, George W. Bivens. Survived by wife of 62 years, Joan Yvonne (Bukovec); daughter, Lisa (Chris) Wachs and nephews, George L. and Jeffrey L. Bivens. Jim started his career as an apprentice carpenter for Wilson Construction. He went on to become a foreman carpenter for Carstensen Inc. He also worked for PNC Bank and Lowe’s. He was a 50 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1419. Jim enjoyed being outdoors working in his field and the woods around the house with his grand-dog Geno by his side. He was an avid ginseng hunter and racoon hunter with the coon dogs and he loved fishing for bass. Jim will also be remembered as a huge Steelers fan. At Jim’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Committal, Richland Cemetery.
