Andrews, James R., Sr, âJimâ, 75, of Stonycreek Township, passed away on November 21, 2011 at home. He was born on September 9, 1936 in Homeville, PA. Son of the late James B. and Elvira M. (Porter) Andrews. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years and high school sweetheart, Ellen M. (Mortimer) Andrews; children, James R. Jr. married to the former Denise Mihelic, Brandon, FL, David W. married to the former JoAnne Mueller, Niceville, FL, Janet L. Andrews, Pittsburgh, PA, and Gary A. married to the former Cheryl Zieglar, Canton, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer wife of Rohan Ross, Orlando, FL, Trevor, Brandon, FL, Lisa, Pittsburgh, PA, Kelly, Jessica and Michael all of Niceville, FL, Nicholas, Matthew and Maria all of Canton, OH; great granddaughter, Annette Ross, Orlando, FL; sisters, Shirley Waldron, Ellenton, FL and Greta Gumbert, McKeesport, PA; brother, Harvey Porter, Greensburg, PA; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Jim was a 1954 graduate of Munhall High School. He earned a diploma from Capitol Radio Engineering Institute. Jim was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from IBM after 35 years of service as a Customer Engineering Specialist. Jim was a member of Grove Avenue United Methodist Church. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball, fishing, hunting, wood carving, golfing, and camping with his family and friends. Jim loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. At Jimâs request there will be no public viewing. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday at the Grove Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward Schoeneck officiating. Private interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, PA.
