Ida P. Gearhart

Gearhart – Ida P. (Ream), 101, formerly of Elton, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on January 11, 2022 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on January 2, 1921 in Seanor, daughter of Arthur S. and Alberta E. (Wiand) Ream. Preceded in death by parents; husband Forrest E. Gearhart, daughter Naomi Joyce Mundorf; grandson, Floyd G. Mundorf Jr.; siblings, Sanford, Wayne, Clarence, Ruth Gouchnour, Frank, William, Jane Bicknell, Gene Ray, and Merna Sue Weisner; sons-in-law, Floyd G. Mundorf Sr., and Frederick Sowerbrower. She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Sowerbrower, Elton; grandchildren, Deann Lee and Cynthia Setzer, both of Holly Hill, FL, James Sowerbrower, Latrobe, and Susan Sowerbrower, Elton; great grandchildren, Shawna (Roger) Stubblefield, North Carolina, Shane F. Setzer, Holly Hill, FL, Jacquelyn Sowerbrower, Latrobe; great-great grandchildren, Shane E. and Khaleesi Setzer, Holly Hill, FL, siblings, John Ream, Elton and Sally Hampton, Homer City and numerous nieces and nephews. Ida was a 1939 graduate of Adams High School. She was a member of Dunmyer Lutheran Church, where she was in the choir; taught Sunday school; and served in both the Lydia Circle and church council for many years. Ida enjoyed playing cards, camping, traveling, and gardening. She loved spending time with her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Arbutus Park Manor for the wonderful care provided to Ida over the last 8+ years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Dunmyer Lutheran Church, 547 Schoolhouse Road, Johnstown with the Pastor Nila Cogan, officiating. Interment at Dunmyer Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Dunmyer Lutheran Church or Arbutus Park Manor in memory of Ida.
