Moss – Herbert C., “Pop”, 94, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2015 at Windber Church of the Brethren. Born on May 26, 1921 in Johnstown, son of William T. and Elizabeth (Doubt) Moss. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Jane (Baumgardner) Moss; brothers, William, Frank, and Alfred; sisters, Louise Culp and Rose Edwards and son-in-law, Calvin Blough Jr. He is survived by his loving children, David, Mt. Pocono, PA, Jackie Blough, Eutaville, SC, and Terry, married to the former Barbara Papuga, Richland Township; daughter-in-law, Julie Moss, Clifton, NJ; grandchildren, Christine (Aaron) Brooks, Jeffrey Blough, Timothy (Roberta) Moss, Kenneth (Loraine) Moss, Michelle (Joseph) Ivan, David H. Moss Jr., Travis Moss and his girl friend, Krista McKenzie, and Tyler (Jackie) Moss; great grandchildren, Kristelyn Blough, Christopher and Christian Brooks, Kayla and April Ivan, Paige, Ryan, Kara, Landon, and Grace Moss and numerous nieces and nephews. Herb was former owner and operator of Reds Auto Body and later retired from M. Glosser & Sons and Kuchera Industries. He was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church, Johnstown. He enjoyed cars, racing go-karts and stock cars and building and flying model air planes. At 72 years of age, Herb earned an ultra-lite pilot license, bought one and flew it for the next 5 years. In his younger years, he played the violin for the Johnstown Symphony. Herb also played the organ and piano and could play any song by ear. He was a very resourceful man, who built 4 homes and was a jack of all trades. He could always be found tinkering in his garage. Herb’s legacy is his love for our God and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church, with the Lead Pastor, Wayne Ayer officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. The family suggests contributions be directed to Memorial Baptist Church, Piano Fund, 210 Vine Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 in memory of Herb.
