SCHELLHAMMER—Helene C. (Cullis) born as Theresa, 94, died June 11, 2024 at home. Born March 7, 1930 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents Leo and Edith (Lauer) Cullis, husband, Donald E., infant daughter, Cathy, brothers Bud, John and Paul and sisters Catherine Billetdeau MacDonald, Rita Shank, Edna, Madeline Calpin and Hilda Rosenbaum. Survived by children: Karen (Donald) Maldet, Denise (Rick) Weinzierl, James (Valerie) all of Johnstown; Donna (Thomas) Hubbard, Robert and Amy all of Columbus, Ohio; Dr. Mark (Susan), Orlando, FL and David (Renee), Knoxville, TN. Helene was the proud grandmother of Matthew, Melissa, Kelly, Jessie, Tommy, Will, Jon, Michael, Jena, Andrew, Mark Jr., Michael, Kyla, Brian, Adam and Ian and 17 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Esther Zane and brother-in-law, Attorney Ed Schellhammer and numerous nieces and nephews. Helene was most proud of her eight children and stated that they were her greatest accomplishment. She prided herself on her many years of teaching ceramics, quilting, budgeting for her large family and playing cards and games with family and friends. Helene enjoyed making pierogies with fellow parishioners at St. Barnabas Parish and was a longtime member of St. Benedict Parish. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal, St. Joseph Mausoleum.
