Helene E. Rowland

Rowland, Helene E., 99, passed away Sept. 23, 2018 at Laurel View Village in Davidsville. She was born December 27, 1918 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of the late Harold and Marian (Weimer) Wallace; also preceded in death by sisters Kate and Sara Jane; daughter Dian Rhoads Lamer; and husband Edmund G. Rowland. She is survived by son Thomas "Dusty" Rhoads of Windber, PA and daughter Romayne Scalf; and granddaughters Dee Dowdell and Dana Sheffield all of Nashville, TN. Helene lived an active life, loved to cook, sew and traveled to her beloved Alaska several times. She felt God opened many doors for her including a nursing career at Windber Hospital later in her life and she was steadfast in her faith in Him. Friends and family will be received at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland on Friday, September 28 from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM. Rev. Jeffrey Bassette, officiating.
