Helen Mae Scarton

Scarton, Helen M, 83, Johnstown. Passed away on July 20, 2013 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Nov. 10, 1929, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Peter and Freda (Pfeil)Poley. Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Connie, wife of William “Buddy” Held, Geistown and Nancy, partner of Becky Weible, Richland. Grandsons, Bill, Richland and Jamie married to Julie (Meyers), Richland. Great grandchildren, Shayna, Rachel, Ayden and Conner. Sister of Bill married to Maureen, New York; Leo married to Edna Mae, Nanty Glo. Helen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She retired from Hiram G. Andrews Center and was formerly employed at Diamond Drugs. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church, Johnstown. She was an avid BINGO player. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff of Arbutus Park Manor, Crossroads Unit and Windber Hospice for their loving care. Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until noon on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. A graveside service will be held at Richland Cemetery. Helen’s family suggests contributions be directed to Arbutus Park Manor, Crossroads Unit, 207 Ottawa Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Helen.
