Kowal, Helen B., 94, of Coconut Creek, FL, formerly of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center, Margate, FL. She was born on October 15, 1918 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Daughter of Zigmund and Wanda (Augustine) Rovansky. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Mike Bilski; husband, Walter F. Kowal Sr; brothers, Nick and Alex and sisters, Mary and Lillian. She is survived by her loving children, Barbara, wife of Michael Havrilesky, Coconut Creek, FL and Walter F. Kowal Jr., Monroe, NJ; grandchildren, Michael (Briana) Havrilesky, Adam Havrilesky and Jessica Kowal; great granddaughter, Melania Havrilesky; siblings, Billy Bilski, Cleveland, OH, Cecilia Holub, Richland and Wanda Waligora, Westmont, as well numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 5-7 P.M. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal will be at Assumption of the B.V.M. Cemetery.
