Helen Irene Gray-Lehman

Gray-Lehman - Helen Irene, 87, a nearly lifelong resident of Ferndale, passed away peacefully May 10. 2022 at Conemaugh Regional Hospice. Born December 24, 1934, in Johnstown, the daughter of Jennings and Dorothy (Beabes) Hoyt. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Alvin C Gray, who passed August 1, 1992; grandson, Alexander James Karson, and infant sisters, Jennie and Alice Hoyt. Survived by husband, Ray G. Lehman, Jr, who she married in June 2017; son, Thomas and his wife Linda, Johnstown, and daughter Kathi Karmanocky, Zephyrhills, FL; granddaughter, Erin Gray, Johnstown; grandson, Sam Goller, Sidman; step-granddaughter, Angela Crocker, Chesapeake, VA; great-granddaughters, Allie Gray and Macie Wagner, Johnstown; step-great-granddaughter, Destiny Crocker, Chesapeake, VA. Helen was a graduate of Ferndale High School, the second of five generations, and Cambria Rowe Business College. She retired from H.F Lenz Company. Helen enjoyed polka and square dancing, bowling, sports at the Cambria County Senior Centers, traveling, shopping, needlepoint and was an avid reader. Helen was an avid supporter of her grandchildren’s athletic and musical events, along with Ray. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and also attended Trinity Lutheran Church.

At Helen’s request, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at noon, Thursday, June 2^nd, at Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship with Pastor James Gay officiating. Private inurnment at Richland Cemetery. Her family would like to thank the staff at Windber Woods and the ICU and Hospice staff at Conemaugh Medical Center.
