Bowers – Harry J., 75, Vinco, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2014 at his residence. Born on November 26, 1939 in Johnstown, son of William M. and Anna S. (Miller) Bowers. Preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Harold “Butts” Gillespie. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Diane L. (Gillespie) Bowers, Vinco; daughters, Tammy (George) Caldwell, New Florence, and Patricia and Heather Bowers, both of Vinco; sister, Fannie Mae Goughnour, East Conemaugh Borough and several nieces and nephews. Harry was a 1958 graduate of South Fork Croyle High School. He served with the US Army National Guard for 8 years. Harry retired from Norfolk Southern Rail Road after 20 years of service as a Brakeman. He was a member of Vinco Brethren Church. Harry enjoyed collecting NASCAR trucks and cars and woodworking. He loved his entire family and will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father and friend. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, with the Rev. Wess Lewis officiating. Private interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Vinco Brethren Church, 123 Adams Ave, Mineral Point, PA 15942 or to the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company, 176 Adams Ave., Mineral Point, PA 15942 in memory of Harry.
