Shultz, Harold R., 91, of Geistown, died Oct. 13, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born on July 24, 1921, in Cherryhill Township, Indiana County. Son of Russell and Gladys (Rose) Shultz. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darlene Shultz; brothers, Regis, Delbert, Harry, Jerry and an infant sister, Violet. Survived by his loving wife, Nellie (Strong), Geistown; brothers, Paul (Emma), Fort Worth, TX; and a sister, Faye Palinkas, Jerome; several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving caregivers, Lester and Dorie Good. Harold was a WW II veteran serving in the US Army. He was employed at the Johnstown Traction Company as an operator of streetcars, trackless trolleys and bus driver. Harold was also owner and operator of the Geistown Driving School; a part time Police Officer with Geistown Borough and retired as a Mill Recorder at the Gautier Division of Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp.. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and Life Member of the Geistown Volunteer Fire Company. Harold was District Governor of Lions District 14J and was the oldest member of the Geistown-Richland Lions Club. He was also a member of the Inner Service Club of Johnstown. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday and from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland with the Rev. John Weaver, officiating. A Lions service will be held at 7:45 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery with military rite by Menoher Post #155, VFW Ritual Team.
