Crum – Harold L., 94, Windber, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2025 at Windber Woods. Born on May 13, 1930 in Sidman, son of Lawrence S. and Rosella Mary (Link) Crum. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Phyllis Marcine (Carney) Crum; sons, Dennis H. and Lawrence S. Crum, and brother, Donald E. Crum.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Roberta M. “Bobbie” (Hollyhead) Crum; daughters, Deborah J. (Edward) Kollar, Sidman, PA, and Beth Ann (Blair) McCunn, Brush Valley, PA; son, Rev. Wade R. (Rev. Allison) Berkey, Erie, PA; grandchildren, Michelle (Dr. Philip) Kosovich, Plymoth Meeting, PA, Scott L. (Amanda) Crum DE, Rebecca (Donald) Ziegler, Johnstown, Michael (Ashley) Kollar, Wilmore, and Natalia (Richard) Miller, Pittsburgh; great-grandchildren, Sophia, and Catilin Kosovich, and Brady, Conner, and Declan Crum and Wesley Kollar; daughter-in-law, Loretta Crum, Lititz, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was a graduate of Forest Hills High School. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 32 years of service as a Supervisor of Maintenance of mobile and heavy equipment in the Johnstown Plant. After retirement, he was employed by Avendale Industries as Maintenance Supervisor. He was the original board member of the Tri Township Water Authority formed to construct a 6 inch water line from a main line in Portage Township through Summerhill Township to the sight of the new Triangle Area School to be built in Croyle Township. After the water line was completed and serving water, he was appointed by the board as Secretary Manager of the line. Harold was a 70 year member of the Greater Johnstown Lodge #538 F&AM which he served 2 terms as past Master in 1965 and 1994. He was also a member of the Jafa Shrine and served as past President of the Johnstown Shrine Club in 1995. Harold was founder and operated Forest Hills Snowmobiles Club for 24 years starting in early 1970 to early 1990. During this time he was awarded a trip to the snowmobile factory in Canada and also to the engine factory in Austria and a 15 day tour of Europe as one of the top dealers in the US. Harold also loved to travel. His highlights were his travel to the Holy Lands and Egypt, Alaska, Hawaii, Netherlands, Austria, and Germany. He also enjoyed the many cruises and said some were better than others, but never had a bad one. Harold greatly enjoyed spending winters from November until April in FL.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14th, at Belmont Community Church, with the Rev. Thomas W. Moore officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
