Grace Altmeyer

Altmeyer, Grace, 92, of Geistown Borough, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2012 at her residence. She was born on March 22, 1920. Daughter of Albert and Margaret (Williams) Stephenson. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband John F. Instone; second husband, Eugene G. Altmeyer; son, John F. Instone Jr.; siblings, David, Ralph, Albert, William, Jack, Thomas, and Edward and an infant sister, Clara Mae. Grace was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Doris J., wife of Willard Colvin, Richland Township, and Shirley A., wife of Barry Reed, Windber; daughter-in-law, Doreen M. Instone, Richland Township; grandchildren, Denise Marsh, Willard C. Jr., Robert J., James B., and Beth A. Colvin, John R., Scott D., and Craig M. Instone, and Todd Instone; step granddaughters, Wendy L. Krestar and Robyn L. Reed; many great grandchildren; great-great grandson, Owen and several nieces and nephews. Grace retired from Penn Traffic, where she was employed at the restaurant. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. Grace enjoyed flower gardening, yard work and baking, but most of all she loved spending time with her entire family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Friday and from 9 A.M. until time of service at 10 A.M. Saturday at the Harris Funeral Home, Richland, with the Pastor Ray Streets officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 or to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 425 Luther Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Grace.
