Gloria M. Smith

Smith – Gloria M., (Platt), 70, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2016 at West Penn Hospital Hospice Unit, Pittsburgh, PA. Born on August 13, 1945 in Johnstown, daughter of Charles W. Sr. and Madeline (Ream) Platt. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles W. “Bud” Jr., Delbert M. “Delby”, and Robert N “Bobby”. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Wilber L. “Bud” Smith, Richland Township; siblings, George R. “Dick”, married to the former Anna Nameth, Greensburg, PA, Carol J., wife of Mario Dinato, Windber, PA, and Madeline Platt, Montclair, CA; sister-in-law, Donna L. Kime, Johnstown; brother-in-law, Frederick A., married to the former Shirley E. Williams, Johnstown and numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was a 1963 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. She was employed at Johnstown Savings Bank for 10 years. Gloria enjoyed taking long walks as well as taking photographs of nature. She will be remembered for her loving and caring spirit. At Gloria’s request there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Private inurnment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Drive Ext., Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Gloria.
