Frederick W. Fisher

Fisher, Frederick W. “Fred”, 66, Salix, went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2016, at Home. Born on July 7, 1950 in Johnstown, son of the late Wayne Fisher and Margaret (Webb) Fisher. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deanna (Jones); son, Chad and wife, Melissa (Stiffler) Fisher; daughter, Misty and husband, Jon Slavic, grandchildren, Riley, Meghan, Connor, Bryson, Jordyn, Ben; sisters, Peggy Kauffman and Marty, wife of Jeff Collins. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Matt and Molly Kauffman, Sydney and Lindsey Collins. Also great nephews Tanner and Connor. Fred was a 1969 graduate of Forest Hills High School. He attended California State College. He started working for New York Life in 1972. Fred went on to start the Fisher Insurance Agency business in 1975. He merged with the Widmann Fronheiser Insurance Agency and became FWF Insurance (Fisher Widmann Fronheiser). In 1989 the Flick Agency merged with FWF Insurance to become Fisher Widmann Flick Insurance Agency. Fred enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles, playing golf, and spending time with his dog Dobby, family and friends, and especially his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Popps and Pa Pa”. Friends will be received from 3 pm until time of service at 7 pm on July 10, 2016 at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Pastor William Deal officiating. Private inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that contributions be directed to the Pennsylvania Co-op Incorporated Potato Growers Association in honor of Fred’s father, Wayne Fisher.
