Frederick M. Burtnett

Burtnett – Frederick M., 60, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2014.  Born on September 6, 1953 in Altoona, PA, son of Richard G. and M. Marie (Sweigert) Burtnett. Preceded in death by parents; son, Mathew C.; father and mother-in-law, Armando and Angela Cataldo. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Judi (Cataldo) Burtnett, Richland Township; siblings, Joyce, wife of Jeff Johnson, Hollidaysburg, Rick, husband of Susan, Mechanicsburg, Beth, wife of Chris Carlen, Milford; sisters-in-law, Sandy, wife of Ron Hilling, Erie, Anita, wife of Tom Frank, State College; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Fred was a 1972 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He was employed for over 30 years by the Department of Public Welfare. Fred was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church; Ferndale Sportsmen’s and Daisytown Sportsmen’s Clubs. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, boating, and bicycling at the Ghost Town Trail with his wife, Judi. Fred will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. At Fred’s request there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 10 A.M. on Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.  The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. The family suggests contributions be directed to Community Foundation for the Alleghenies - Indiana County Parks and Trails, 116 Market Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 in memory of Fred.
