Kramer, Fred Richard, 83, of Salix, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on December 15, 1929 in Johnstown. Son of Fred W. and Louise M. Kramer. Preceded in death by his parents; close aunt, Kay, wife of Rudy Witherspoon. He is survived by his loving son, Fred C., married to the former Melissa Shumaker, South Fork; daughter, Mary Louise Kramer, Johnstown; special grandchildren, Fred J. and Alexander Kramer; other grandchildren, Amber, Aubree, Briana and Jonathon Kramer; 4 great grandchildren; many friends and his 2 companions, Harley and Rocky. Fred was a graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Fred retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was employed as a shearman. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Fred was an avid hunter, marksman, and fisherman, as well as an excellent father. He especially enjoyed spending time at his cottage and loved the outdoors. Fred also loved his faithful companions, Harley and Rocky. At Fred’s request there will be no public viewing. Private inurnment will be at the convenience of the family at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Michael A. VanDyke officiating and military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family is being served by the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
