Franklin Dwight Knavel

 KNAVEL----Franklin Dwight, 91, Johnstown, PA, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2022 while at his residential community of Richland Woods Assisted Living. Born on May 25, 1931 in Elton, PA, son of Margaret M. and Paul E. Knavel. Preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Callihan-Wilson, Irvin Knavel, step-brother, Duane Leffler and good friend, Sam Coco. He is survived by his sister, Anna Grace Bracken and step-sister, Roberta Corey and long-time companion, Marianne Hornyak. Dwight had many nieces and nephews. Dwight graduated high school and attended the University of Pittsburgh for 2 years. He worked as an Engineer for Ruston Mining Company for 26 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and served 2 years in the Army. He enjoyed listening to the oldies and various other music, working with wood, playing Pinochle, watching TV--especially Shark Tank, playing Checkers, Phase 10 and Dominoes. He also enjoyed outings, horseracing and Wii bowling. Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until time of memorial service at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Rev. Adam Dotts officiating.
