Oravec, Frank J., 81, of Richland. Went to be with the Lord on Oct. 27, 2013, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Oct. 3, 1932 in Johnstown. Son of the late John and Mary Anne (Gordian) Oravec. Also preceded in death by son; Matthew J. Oravec who died Oct. 18, 2013; siblings; Mary (Joseph) Bernas, Susan, Andrew J. (Anna Mae Kot), Ann (Anthony) Zajdel, Joseph J. (Olga Stanislaw), Josephine (Ed Cominsky) and Veronica; sister-in-laws, Margie (Donald) Micik and Dot Golian; and brother-in-law, Raymond Cosgrove. Frank was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by wife of 52 years, Magdalen (Golian) and sons; Frank A. and Gregory M., both of Dubois, PA. Brother âin-law of Joseph Golian and Helen Cosgrove; also numerous nieces and nephews. Graduate of Johnstown High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. Frank was an electrical engineer who formerly worked for Penelec, U.S. Steel and retired from H.F. Lenz, Co. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. He enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife and sons. Frank enjoyed playing the accordion when he was a young with his childhood friends, Jerry Intihar and Henry Laichak. Also loved music, especially polkas, waltzes and numerous bands including Eddy Rodick and Frankie Yankovic. Frank was a soft spoken gentleman and very hard working man. May he rest in peace until we meet again. No public viewing, however, relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Benedict Church. Fr. David S.
