Albert – Frank J., 102, Morrellville, went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2017 at his daughter, Bridget’s home. Born on April 17, 1914 in St. Benedict PA, son of Joseph and Mary (Miduri) Albert. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 51 years, Elizabeth M. (Troxell) Albert; brother, Peter O.; sisters, Angeline Spramelli and Rose Albert. He is survived by his loving children, Mary Lou, wife of Stephen Paluch, Salix, PA, Frank J., married to the former Goldie Mayle, Beaver, PA, Rose M. Goch, Johnstown, Peter M., and his significant other, Kathleen Merrow, both of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Bridget, wife of Gregory A. Kutsick Sr., Richland Township; grandchildren, Liza Albert, Melissa Goch, Elizabeth Albert, and Gregory Jr., Dominick, Angelina, Sophia, and Maria Kutsick; great grandchildren, Daphne, Loretta, and Hunter; brother, Joseph (Carol) Albert, Monroeville, PA and several nieces and nephews. Frank was a US Army Air Corps. Veteran serving during WWII in the Air Transport/Refueling Division. He was co-owner, with his brother, Pete, of the former Albert Brothers Beer Distributor. Frank retired in 1978 from the former Duke Beverage Distributing. After retiring, he became self-employed as a landscaper and gardener until the age of 99. Frank was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where he was an Usher and member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly #954 and a member of the Color Corps. When Frank was a baby, his family moved back to their home land of Italy. He spent most of his childhood growing up in Monforte, San Giorgio, Sicily. When he was 12 years old, his family returned to America and resided in Seward, PA. Frank enjoyed traveling in his later years. He made lots of friends all over the United States. For many years, he played the role of Christopher Columbus in the annual Columbus Day Parades in Johnstown. Frank loved life. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Fr. Bernard Karmanocky. Private committal will be at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
