Florence S. Wissinger

Wissinger, Florence S., 90, of Salix. Died Oct. 22, 2017, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Jan. 15, 1927, in Salix. Daughter of the late Hadley and Bessie (Stufft) Wissinger. Also preceded in death by sisters, Betty (Wissinger) Felix, Barbara Marie Wissinger and Dorothy J. (Wissinger) McAchren; and brother Elmer Wissinger. Survived by brother, Charles L. Wissinger of Humble, TX. Sister in law of Leanore (Varner) Wissinger of New Holland, PA and Richard L. McAchren of Johnstown. Also 1 niece and 7 nephews. A graduate of former Adams Twp. High School and Cambria Rowe Business College. Florence worked as a dental assistant for 1 year and then was employed by Forest Hills School District for 35 years as the high school secretary retiring in January of 1982. A former member of First Congregational Church of Johnstown and now attending Maple Grove Church in Salix. At request of deceased there will be no public viewing, however, family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday at 1:30 PM at Richland Cemetery. Family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Family suggests donations to Maple Grove Church, 130 Palestine Rd. Salix, PA 15952 in memory of Florence.
