Cowan-Marron – Florence T., 87, Belmont, went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on March 13, 1929 in Johnstown, daughter of Julius A. and Mary Magdeline (Bodenschatz) Rosage. Preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Charles A. Cowan; 2nd husband, Thomas M. Marron; son-in-law, John D. Rossi; siblings, Sister Marcia “Delores” Rosage, Bernadine Symon, Gertrude Solomon, Jim Rosage, Rose Cochran, and Jean Cauffiel. She is survived by her loving children, Charles L. Cowan and wife, Deborah, Johnstown, Gary L. Cowan and wife, Nancy, Apex, NC, Marcia A. Rossi, Johnstown, Dennis J. Cowan, Johnstown and special friend, Joanne Smith, Jeannette, PA, and Diane and husband, Jay Cunningham, Williamsburg, VA; step-children, Mary Jane Bernier, Newton, MA. Tom Marron and wife, Kathy, Havre de Grace, MD, and Margie Marron, Johnstown; grandchildren, Theresa (Christopher) Brown, Leona and Robert Cowan, Kera (Brad) Julian, Gary (Kelly) Cowan, Matthew (Leanna) Cowan, Todd (Jen) Rossi, Kevin (Amy) Rossi, Mark (Lauren) Rossi, Katelyn Rossi, and John and Kiana Cunningham; step-grandchildren, George Bernier, Elizabeth Lamont, and Leah Marron; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Mercedes, Brielle, Michael, Matthew, Danielle, Kyle, Sophia, Jack, Dominic, Anthony, and Wyatt; step-great grandchildren, Duncan and Robby; great-great grandson, Hunter; siblings, William (Satch) Rosage, Johnstown, Jane Cowan-Kassick, Reading, PA, and John (Betty) Rosage, Johnstown and numerous nieces and nephews. Flo was a graduate of the former Johnstown Catholic High School. She attended a designing school in Pittsburgh, which led to her career as an accomplished seamstress. Flo retired from Penn Traffic. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Flo enjoyed water aerobics and walking at the YMCA, playing cards with her card club group, BINGO, and bus trips to the casino. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Flo especially enjoyed being able to share and take part in her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives. She will be remembered by all for her positive outlook on life as well as her fantastic smile and deep religious faith. Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 or to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Florence.
