Evelyn R. Biber

Biber, Evelyn R., 76, of Richland Township, passed away on October 23, 2014 at Windber Hospice. She was born on April 20, 1938, in Johnstown. Daughter of the late Stephen and Rose (Demor) Slavick. Preceded in death by husband, Elgene J., “Gene” Biber; brothers, Stephen M. Slavik and Richard Slavick; brother-in-law, Francis S. Hoffman and a sister-in-law, Loretta A. Slavick. Survived by loving sisters, Margaret Hoffman, Johnstown, and Rosemary wife of Paul Eck, Palmyra, PA; nieces, Laurie wife of Harry Lint, Palmyra, PA, Victoria wife of Charles Lermineau, Beaverdale and Valerie wife of Randolph Weaver, CA; grandnephews, Robert Lint, Palmyra, PA and Brandon Weaver, CA; grandniece, Haley Weaver, CA; sister-in-law, Danielle Slavik, CA and long time friends, Gerald Smith and Marion Carbaugh both of Johnstown. Evelyn was a graduate of Ferndale High School. She was employed by Glosser Brothers for 27 years, where she retired as the office manager of Gee Bee Retail Accounting. After retirement she was employed as a book keeper at Leventry Law Offices. Evelyn was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. She will be remembered as a kind and loving sister, aunt and friend. Friends received from 10 a.m. until time of Prayer Service at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Discalced Carmelite Nuns, P.O.
