Zupancic – Eva A., 96, East Taylor Township, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2016 at her residence. Born on July 15, 1920 in Johnstown, daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Mazurek) Bucior. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John M.; son Frank; sisters, Victoria Gutshall, Stella Dorofey, and Josephine Gabany; brother, Joseph, and her best friend and sister-in-law, Clara M. and husband, Max Fink. She is survived by her loving children, John M. Jr., married to the former Nina Leftwich, Laplata, MD, and Edward J., married to the former Jeanne Kuhn, Johnstown, Marian F., wife of Dr. Owen K. Morgan, Westmont, and Joann K, wife of Ronald J. Ledwich, Washington, PA; beloved grandchildren, Melissa (Zupancic), wife of Patrick John, John M. Zupancic III, married to the former Cheryl Gordan, all of Washington, DC, Dr. Lindsay J. Ledwich, wife of Craig Fleishauer, Pittsburgh, and Ronald J. Ledwich II, married to the former Shannon Black, Marietta, GA; also survived by these step grandchildren, David, Jamie, and Bryan Everhart, all of Johnstown; great grandchildren, Lea and Logan Zupancic, and Isabella and Julianna John, all of Washington, DC, Craig and Christian Fleishauer, Pittsburgh; step grandchildren, Alexis, Lance, Brandon, Chase, and Sawyer Everhart, all of Johnstown; sisters, Frances Znidarsic, Johnstown, Theresa, wife of Jerry Kozielec, Hollsopple; brother, Andrew, Johnstown and numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was head cook at the East Taylor Elemetary School for many years, retiring at the age of 68. Eva was a member of the East Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Church of the Transfiguration. She was married in 1941 and resided in her home, the Old Headrick Inn farm house, until her passing. Eva loved her flower and vegetable gardens, canning, and cooking. Among her favorite dishes, were pigs in a blanket, pierogies, apple strudel, and she enjoyed making nut rolls. She was an avid Steeler fan. Eva was a very strong and positive individual, having lost her husband at the age of 40, with 5 children to raise. She was admired by all those who knew her for her perseverance and strength. Eva loved life and her family dearly and enjoyed her friends and neighbors. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Krishna Bhat and Dr. Jyothi K. Gella for their excellent care, as well as Dr. Gella’s staff, Michelle and Jill. Eva was a loving mother, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. on Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of the Transfiguration, Fr. Robert C. Hall, Pastor. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.
