Eugenia M. "Jeanie" Sabo

SABO---Eugenia Mae “Jeanie,” 64, formerly of Johnstown, my special daughter went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2018. Born May 23, 1954, in Johnstown, daughter of Eugene F. and Shirley M. (Kovach) Sabo. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Johnstown; brothers, Kevin (Jennifer) Sabo, Richland; Kenny (Julie) Sabo, Boswell; nieces and nephews, Melinda, Jacqueline and Alyssabeth, Michael, Lauren and Cameron; special cousins, Gloria and Jim Harrison; and Christine Sabo and Steve Miller, Danny Broda and Janice Greenspan. 1972 graduate of Johnstown High School. Jeanie was active in pageants. She was Miss Navy, Miss Jennerstown Speedway. She had a paid part in the movie Slap Shot. Jeanie was a beautiful woman and she thought life was beautiful. She loved life and she loved being surrounded by beautiful things. When a young woman leaves this earth, what we consider early, it is truly like a flower blooming that fades before its time, never reaching the full potential of all its beauty and glory that God had intended. But we know that her departure from here means an entry into the most glorified place. She left a broken body and leapt into the arms of Jesus. While we will be sad for ourselves, we must rejoice for Jeanie, for her pain is over and she entered into true eternity of happiness, which is what we all seek here, and seldom find. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Pastor Guy Myers officiating.
